Tik Tok, you know what to do.įrankly, I think that everyone had a blast with this episode - the animators, the writers, the singing actors, and the speaking actors. Yet again, I'm surprised that this song hasn't also gone viral. Evan Lurie also really leans into the brass with this track, and I just adore that rolling saxophone solo about halfway through the song. I also love the animation style for the scene, for they reverted back to the 2D style from the title sequence, making it very psychedelic and interesting. Her voice is so smooth and scratchy that for a moment, you almost forget that this is actually a children's song. Tyrone is her henchman, and it's possible that the animators probably took inspiration from Oddjob, a very famous Bond sidekick, with his suit and bowler hat.Īnother amazing song from the Part 1 has to be "The Lady In Pink", featuring 80s legend Cyndi Lauper. What I can say is that I love her outfit, as it's very 60s inspired, with the big sunglasses, overcoat, and boots.

Uniqua's role in the story is as The Lady In Pink - I'm not really sure if she's meant to be a specific homage to a certain Bond villain, but if you happen to know, please say so in the comments. In fact, it really seems like the people behind this episode really like that particular installment (and you can't blame them, it's easily one of the best in the series), because there a lot more subtle homages later on in the story.

There's also Pablo's tricked out car - which every movie spy definitely has, but Bond was the one who definitely started that trend with the famous grey Aston Martin DB5, which was introduced in Goldfinger. And there's a whole gag about Agent Secret liking his beverages shaken, and the fact Pablo says, "The name's Secret. For example, Pablo wears a white dining jacket and black bowtie, clearly a reference to Sean Connery's famous outfit, and Tasha is called Miss T, possibly a reference to M, Bond's boss (not to mention her mannerisms mirror Dame Judi Dench's take on the character). I think what's also great about these episodes is the all the Bond references that the parents will definitely get, so it makes a very enjoyable viewing experience for everyone. You can tell that she just relishes the role. And on an unrelated note, LaShawn Tinah Jefferies, the speaking voice of Uniqua, has easily the most amazing evil laugh I've ever heard. And guess what, folks? Nickelodeon never released it on any of the soundtracks. We really need to start a petition or something - release not just this song, but all of them.

Need I remind you that a little boy is singing this song? It's just so impressive. First of all, the orchestration's so elegant and smooth, and Sean Curley's once again back at it with his amazing belts. And now No Time To Die will be his last one.geez, I feel old.Īfter an extended title sequence that was definitely inspired by the Bond films of the 70s, Pablo kicks off the episode with the song "International Super Spy", which is such an amazing song, I can't even wrap my brain around it. Also, the timing for this event was absolutely perfect, because Casino Royale starring Daniel Craig had come out a year before it aired.

No (you can check it out here to compare it to the episodes' music). It fits so incredibly well: jazz is classy, which makes sense because spies are supposed to be like that, and it mimics what John Barry did when he composed the famous James Bond theme in Dr.

Evan Lurie returns with easily his best work on the show, and this time he chose jazz as the genre. How couldn't they? It truly feels like an event, revisiting the episodes. This is definitely a special topic, not just because it's quite possibly the perfect James Bond parody (next to Austin Powers anyway), but also because I feel like people are talking about the episodes overall, not just the one viral song, like "Castaways" and "Into the Thick of It". Here we are, everyone! The first two parter of the series.
